One of the biggest fears about leaving the hospital and bringing your baby home is that your precious perfect little baby will be colicky. Especially when you have other children to take care of as well.

Newborns bring us the most joy, but they can also bring a lot of sleepless nights and stress.

When I brought my 5th child home from the hospital, I soon came to realize that she was not as easy as my other newborns had been.  Being my 5th, it brought on a whole new type of exhaustion.

She was constantly spitting up (A LOT) after each feeding. None of my other newborns ever wore bibs, but with her we were changing hers every few hours! She was fussy and irritable. I tried switching formula, talking to my doctor about her being lactose intolerant, and the list goes on. But for some reason, the last thing that came to my head was switching bottle brands.

I headed to my local Walmart where it is the one-stop shop for everything, right?  Especially when it comes to anything baby!  I noticed there was a Walmart On-pack coupon for $3 off for Playtex® 3 pack baby bottlesimg_4971

For my baby’s situation,  I decided to purchase the Playtex® VentAire® and the The Most Like Mom® NaturaLatch® Nipple.

This new switch has been amazing! It hasn’t “cured” her problem entirely, but it has definitely helped me. It has been my saving grace at times.

The reason I purchased the Playtex Baby™ VentAire® is because it has a unique Anti-Colic bottom vent. The vents keep the air at the bottom of the bottle so it doesn’t get mixed in with the milk and you are ended up with a very fussy baby with an upset tummy.

The bottle is also designed with an angle which helps prevent ear infections! Golden!

Because I am not the birth mother for Charlee, I wanted to give her the best bottle nipple that would mimic breastfeeding. The Most Like Mom® NaturaLatch® Nipple was the perfect option for this. It has a natural wide shape which helped her latch on more naturally.

I’m seriously so happy I found these bottles to help her! We were both tired and fussy and I’m happy to report that we have found the solution to her problem! Hooray!

Another reason Playtex VentAire bottles are my fave is because they make cleaning bottles so incredibly easy. Here are a few simple steps to help you give your baby a clean bottle every time.

Step 1: After Feeding your Baby

It is easiest to clean your baby bottles right after feeding.  If you wait, the formula or milk can curdle and become hard to get off. So after I feed my baby, I immediately wash my bottle. If you don’t have time to wash right then it is best to fill up your bottle with warm water and just allow it to sit this way preventing the hardness from occurring from the milk.

Step 2:  Removing all Parts of your Bottle

Now that your bottle is rinsed and it is time to clean your baby bottle, remove all parts of the bottles’ pieces.  This is where the Playtex VentAire makes life easy.  Every part comes undone making it easier to clean the middle section of your bottle.  If you miss this step you are allowing mildew and bacteria to build up in missed parts.

Step 3: Washing Your Bottle

Now that all of your parts are separated, you are ready to start cleaning.  Fill up your sink with warm water and soap.  I prefer to use a mild soap when cleaning baby bottles.  Put all bottles in warm water.  Clean all parts with a bottle brush.  When purchasing your bottle brush make sure it also has a nipple brush, this will help clean the nipples easier with a smaller brush.

Put the brush inside the bottle and pull back and forth scrubbing the sides to remove any hardened milk.

Step 4: Rinsing Bottles

You do not want any soap residue left on your bottle since this will go in your child’s mouth.  I rinse all my bottles and all parts after washing them in cold water.  This is a must step so your child isn’t eating any suds.

Step 5: Drying

If you are wanting to stay low in budget you can lay out a towel and have all pieces upside down so all water droplets drip downward.  If you prefer a drying rack, they will already have it to where you put your bottles upside down on the hooks.  They even have hooks and spots for nipples.  The rack does keep your bottles in a more contained space to take up as small as spot as possible.

You are all set to store your bottles in the best, most convenient location for you, as I know you aren’t busy at all haha.  You now have a spic and span bottle and are ready to feed your baby again!

So run to your nearest Walmart and buy the best bottle for your baby, and in my opinion it’s a Playtex®.
