Every spring I purchase all of my kids a new pair of shoes and new clothes. I have found a few brands that can truly last a long time which I love for hand-me-downs for when the kids are little. When I find a brand that can be handed down from one child to the next I will continue to buy from them. I would hate to keep all my mom favorites a secret from you.
Surprize by Stride Rite is one of these brands. These shoes are durable, have a fabulous fit BUT my very favorite thing is they are super easy to get on and off. This is a deal breaker for me. If I purchase a pair of shoes that is hard for me to put on my baby’s foot I will never buy them again. No Mom Has Time For That!
So when I heard Stride Rite was selling a line called Surprize by Stride Rite at Target (in store and online), I was pumped. Two of my favorite brands in the same location, Stride Rite and Target. It was time to purchase the kids new shoes so I headed off to my favorite place!
They had such a wide variety of shoes from tennis shoes to a more dress line. Stride Rite has always done so well with designing shoes with bright fun colors for children. I don’t know about your toddlers but my toddlers LOVE shoes and especially a more “FUN” or bright color shoe.
If you have children wearing size newborn to size 5 these will be in the baby section of Target, NOT the shoe section.
When my son was in Occupational Therapy and we were working on his walking, the shoe that the therapist recommended was of course Stride Rite. A child’s bone structure is fully developed in the first 24 months. So it is important to make sure the shoes fits and is designed to fit your child’s foot. There are so many benefits of this shoe… for one they have rounded toes and traction pods to reduce falls while learning to walk. The shoe also has a memory foam footbed and flexible outsoles to fit the shape and movement of your child’s foot.
I have a nephew that has an extra wide foot and I remember my sister telling me that the only shoe that fits her son is a Stride Rite. They are designed to fit medium and wide width feet.
I have one daughter who struggles with stinky feet. She always has. I feel so bad for her. When I heard that Stride Rite comes with an anti-stink lining I knew I had to give it a go. Between our EASY solution and the anti-stink lining I am pretty sure we have rid her of this annoyance. Because of this I HAVEN’T had to use this solution in her shoes.
Here is our super simple solution to help with stinky feet.
- spray bottle
- Rubbing alcohol
It seems too easy to work but it honestly does. Spray your shoes when you take them off at night and again in the morning before you put them back on. The alcohol will kill the stinky bacteria.
So if you are like me and looking for a new pair of kicks for your kids for spring head down to Target (I know you will be heading there anyways wink wink) and pick up a pair of Surprize by Stride Rite. I know you won’t regret it.
